Pearl Above Water started with a search that came up empty. I went looking for a luxury journal, or honestly, just a safe one, and I could not find it. Nothing felt like it was made for real girls. So I decided to make it myself.

I wanted to give girls something to look forward to. Something they could feel safe with. Something that let them simply be themselves, instead of forcing them into who they are supposed to be. That is the heart behind every journal we make: simple, but meaningful in a way you can feel. The kind of journal a girl picks up again and again, not because she has to, but because of the intention and thought behind every page.

We are also living in a world where technology sits at the center of everything, and I wanted to bring a different kind of luxury into that space. Paper is beautiful. Paper is memorable. I will always love it. But technology has taken over how we live, and I believe it is time for something new within that. Personally, if I was going to journal on my iPad, I wanted it to feel like I was journaling as a luxurious woman, not just tapping through another app. I wanted to open it and feel like I loved it, like it was family.
